Key Import Rules & Regulations
All imported used vehicles (Tokunbo) must strictly adhere to the policies set by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
MAX AGE LIMIT
Vehicles must not be more than 10 years old from the date of manufacture. Importers face seizure or heavy penalties for older cars.
DRIVE SIDE & DELIVERY
Nigeria mandates Left-Hand Drive (LHD) vehicles only. RHD vehicles are strictly prohibited and cannot be cleared or registered for use on public roads.
PROHIBITED IMPORTS
Vehicles older than 10 years, salvage/accident titles, severely damaged vehicles, and commercial motorcycles.
